This year I will be sharing brief excerpts from the articles, sermons, and books I am currently reading. My posts will not follow a regular schedule but will be published as I find well-written thoughts that should be of interest to maturing Christian readers. Whenever possible, I encourage you to go to the source and read the complete work of the author.

On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:21-23 ESV)

There are many people who claim to be Christians, call Jesus Lord, preach, teach Sunday school and give to the church, however, they are false disciples. Someday, Jesus will say to them, “I never knew you; depart from me.”

While the false disciple claims to be a man of God, he actually represents his own self-deceptions. He is of his father the devil and his fruit will betray his words. While he may deceive others and even himself, he cannot fool the omniscient God who will judge him. Therefore, examine yourself to make sure you are doing the will of God and not just speaking idle words.

The “workers of lawlessness” mentioned above are like servants who claim to serve their master but ignore his will and commandments. They serve themselves and only acknowledge their master when it is to their advantage. Jesus banished these “workers of lawlessness” dooming them to eternal ruin. The Apostle Paul writes:

… even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15 ESV)

Christians must test themselves to avoid living as the unsaved do in the futility of their minds. (see verse 21 in Romans 1) The unsaved are not only darkened in their understanding but are alienated from the life of Christ due to the hardness of their hearts. The unsaved may call themselves Christians but they are self-centered and covetous – given to sensuality and impurity. They do not live the way of Christ. (Ephesians 4:17-20 ESV) Their faith is based upon their own ideas and feelings rather than the Scriptures.

No one who is born of God makes a practice of sinning. (1 John 3:9 ESV) Only those who practice righteousness have been born of Him. (1 John 2:29 ESV) They keep God’s commandments because they love Him. (John 14:15 ESV) True converts have confidence in God because they keep His commandments and endeavor to do what pleases Him. They believe in the name of Jesus and love one another. (1 John 3:19-24 ESV) It is these that the Lord will rescue from every evil deed and take safely into his heavenly kingdom. (2 Timothy 4:18 ESV)

Last night as I lay sleeping a dream came to me.
I dreamed about the end of time, about eternity.
I saw a million sinners fall on their knees to pray.
The Lord just sadly looked at them and this I heard Him say,

Sorry, I never knew you,
depart from me forevermore.
Sorry, I never knew you.
Go serve the one that you served before.

I thought the time has surely come when I must face the trial.
and I told the Lord that I had been a Christian all the while.
But through his book he took a look and sadly shook his head
Then placed me over on His left and this is what he said:

Sorry, I never knew you,
I have no record of your birth.
Sorry, I never knew you.
Go serve the one that you served on earth.
(“Sorry, I Never Knew You” by the Sego Brothers and Naomi)

  1. Hmmm. Many do not know that the fake, imposters, and those doing their own thing but in the church are far more than those committed to truly serving and pleasing the Lord. This is what the Lord told me June 2015 and I shared tears. I cried for the many innocent followers of these fake ones ready for destruction.
But there is good news! The Lord has began a campaign to flash them out, to expose and plague them. He has started it already in Accra, Ghana, my country. Praise YHWH, the righteous God.
