Our Constitution under Fire!

From the Morning Bell:

Today, the federal government has acquired an all but unquestioned dominance over virtually every area of American life. It acts without constitutional limits and increasingly regulates our most basic activities, from how much water is in our toilets to what kind of light bulbs we can buy.

So while we face many challenges, the most difficult task ahead—and the most important—is to restore constitutional limits on government. Forty visionaries signed a piece of paper 225 years ago today that became one of the most vital documents in the world: the U.S. Constitution.

I know you’ve been supporting Romney/Ryan – but do you think they are going to be the guys to restore the Constitution?

    • I think our best chance of this happening is for them to win in November. If they do not, it may be too late in 2016. We must also remember that electing the right congressmen and senators is also required.

      • Well, I think you’re correct, but there is more to it. Romney’s compromise on abortion – allowing for rape/incest – is a compromise with an issue that Christians cannot compromise on; and besides that, the total picture of restoration of our Republic has much less to do with the White House and Congress, and so much more to do with a reassertion of local and State authority to check the Federal tyrants. In either case, blessings to you, brother.

        • I agree on both counts. Concerning state authority under the Constitution: Romney has been making statements in various contexts which seem to recognize that the states have a bigger role to play in deciding many issues. Though I am not a supporter of the Mass. Health Plan, I believe it is an issue that belongs at the state level and not the federal.
