“Islam Rising” details how “hate crime” laws in the Netherlands have been used to suppress the free speech rights of its citizens and put the future well-being of the Netherlands in peril. The movie includes the short documentary “Fitna” which compares Koranic verses with documented examples of those verses being carried out in practice today through acts of Islamic terrorism. Geert Wilders, who was named Politician of the Year in Holland in 2007 and currently serves as a member of the Dutch Parliament, has been charged with committing a “hate crime” for producing Fitna.
