“Now back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program. One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.”
Brit Hume continues to be verbally pummeled by America’s cultural elites for his recent advice to Tiger Woods. On Fox News Sunday, Hume asserted that Tiger’s golf game would eventually recover, but that if he wanted to overcome the guilt and shame of his repeated infidelity, he wouldn’t find the answer in his Buddhist faith, but rather in the “redemption and forgiveness” of Christianity.
Sophisticated opinion leaders were horrified at Brit’s breach of the governing rule of American discourse. What rule is that? The one that declares that everything and anything is to be tolerated. Men “marrying” men, birth control pills for 13 year-olds, porn, abortion-on-demand, transgender rights, teachers seducing students – the list goes on. But under no circumstances is a public figure to utter the name of Jesus or suggest there is hope for mankind at the foot of the Cross. Such views are to be kept in the closet – the very closet out of which every perversion has been invited to exit.
I say, “Congratulations, Brit!” Ignore the Pigmies nipping at your heels and keep spreading the Good News. You can e-mail Brit your encouragement atyourcomments@foxnews.com(Subject: Brit Hume).
“Someone mentioned Christianity on television recently and liberals reacted with their usual howls of rage and blinking incomprehension.” See Ann Coulter’s excellent article. . . .
John Piper: “What is sin? It is the glory of God not honored. The holiness of God not reverenced. The greatness of God not admired. The power of God not praised. The truth of God not sought. The wisdom of God not esteemed. The beauty of God not treasured. The goodness of God not savored. […]
Abraham Kuyper (Dutch Theologian): “Every science in a certain degree starts from faith, and, on the contrary, faith, which does not lead to science, is mistaken faith or superstition, but real, genuine faith it is not.”
Why are we taught that "the fruit of the Spirit is love"? Because the Spirit of God has come to make our daily life an exhibition of divine power and a revelation of what God can do for His children.
Success is one of the chief desires in our culture. Many people make a good living selling their formula for success in books, seminars, and on TV programs. The focus of this present cultural attitude is more about what we do and have as opposed to who we are. We define success by a man’s profession and how much money he makes. Such an attitude makes our def […]
