James Dobson Says Obama Does Not Understand The Bible Or The Constitution
In response to a speech given by Senator Barack Obama, James Dobson, accuses the Democratic presidential nominee of distorting the Bible and pushing a “fruitcake interpretation” of the Constitution. This criticism was aired on Tuesday, June 24th on Dobson’s citizenlink.com radio program.
“Even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools?” Obama said. ”Would we go with James Dobson’s or Al Sharpton’s?”
Dobson took aim at examples Obama cited in asking which Biblical passages should guide public policy – chapters like Leviticus, which Obama said suggests slavery is OK and eating shellfish is an abomination, or Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, “a passage that is so radical that it’s doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application.”
Dobson accused Obama of wrongly equating Old Testament texts and dietary codes that no longer apply to Jesus’ teachings in the New Testament. “I think he’s deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology.”
Dobson said Obama, who supports abortion rights, is trying to govern by the “lowest common denominator of morality,” labeling it “a fruitcake interpretation of the Constitution. Am I required in a democracy to conform my efforts in the political arena to his bloody notion of what is right with regard to the lives of tiny babies? What he’s trying to say here is unless everybody agrees; we have no right to fight for what we believe.”

Am I reading this right? Obama was a practising Muslim in his youth. He later later attended a church for 20 years where black “social” (Marxist)message preached by the deranged Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. I do not call him “Reverend,” because he does not deserve that title. Neither did Martin Luthor King, or Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. No, I have nothing against black preachers, I know several on a personal level who are humble servants of God and live their faith by the Word.
Obama tells us all that he is a Christian, yet he supports the mass murder of unborn children. His wife, Michelle, stated that for “the first time” she was proud of her country. Why? Because her husband is seen as the new black version of JFK? One shudders to think what kind of First Lady she will make.
Perhaps most worrying of all, is the fact that deranged terrorists world-wide have stated openly that they “like” Obama. Well, he WAS a Muslim and has already started making overtures of “peace” towards Lybia, Iran, and the Palestinians.
John McCain, who is not my favorite candidate, but is the lesser of two evils, has eradicated Obama’s seven point lead in the polls. This is a crucial time in America, a nation that will be governed either by its first non-white president whose duplicity is deeply disturbing, or by McCain who at his worst will continue to keep US troops in Iraq and continue with many of Bush’s policies. McCain’s long pro-life record is a plus. Hopefully, the sky will not fall upon us, whoever will win. The second coming of Christ would be much more preferable!
