It’s Time To Choose: Economic Security Or Environmental Madness?
According to Terance P. Jeffrey, the U.S. government knows where it can get its hands on more untapped petroleum than exists in the proven reserves of Iran, or Iraq, Russia, Libya, Nigeria, or Venezuela. It is actually more than exists in Kuwait or the United Arab Emirates.
Why aren’t we drilling for it and pumping it out?
The answer is that the United States government is its citizens’ worst enemy when it comes to tapping this giant resource of oil. This oil lies underneath our land and our oceans and we cannot touch it. Our politicians, in order to please the environmental lobby’s pseudo-science, refuse to let us drill for our own oil. Do you wonder why gas is so high? It is because our politicians have chosen to make us dependent on Middle Eastern and other sources of foreign oil. Rather than developing our own resources, they have chosen to make our economy and our standard of living dependent on foreign countries who would rejoice in America’s demise.
The Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS) has published a report that there are 85.9 billion barrels of oil sitting off our beaches (more than Russia, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain combined). The Bureau of Land Management has released a report estimating our onshore resources to be another 53 billion barrels. We have about 139 billion barrels of oil within our own lands and oceans; yet, our politicians refuse to let us drill – while China sits with an oil rig drilling off the southern coast of Florida “legally” stealing our oil.
While the nation’s economy begins to crash and burn, our US Senators and Representatives would rather fiddle at the pseudo-science of “man made” global warming and helping the environmental lobby get richer with carbon credits. They should, instead, begin repealing the laws they passed which have caused this economic breakdown and take the chains off of energy development in this country. This includes not only oil and gas, but nuclear, water, wind, and solar power as well. Energy independence must be our goal.
Al Gore is traveling the world telling everyone that we must have a cap and trade program and we’ve got to cut back on carbon dioxide. At the same time his investment management has purchased a 9.5% stake in a company called Camco Global. Camco Global is one of the largest holders of carbon credits in the entire world. Is this a coincidence? Al Gore has a vested interest in carbon credits and the expansion of carbon trading. Just a little over a week ago Mr. Gore was praising the climate change bill in front of the Senate saying that we need to cut carbon dioxide. He would definitely benefit financially (millions and perhaps billions of dollars) from the United States entering into a cap and trade program. I’m sure this must be a coincidence (not)!
John McCain would do well, if he wants to win the Presidency, to have an “epiphany” concerning the silliness of “man made” global warming and the destructive results of environmentalism run wild. Someone once said, “It’s the economy, stupid!” McCain needs to get this right or soon the voters who would support him will not have enough enthusiasm to show up at the polls. In the meantime, voters should watch carefully for the politicians in Washington supporting environmental madness over a strong economy. If their seats are up for election, this one issue is a legitimate cause to boot them out. Do you think the price of gas is high now? Soon, you will be paying three times as much as you are now if Washington continues doing what it has always done. You may also want to think about purchasing a wood burning stove.
