John McCain & Global Warming

Presidential candidate Senator John McCain has once again demonstrated poor judgment by proposing a massive and costly plan to combat global warming.  He seems to be embracing the new green religious cult that would destroy the US economy and have us all living on the technical level of the Amish (no insult intended to the Amish).  If I wanted to live in an underdeveloped third world country, I would move there.

All three presidential candidates have bought into the global warming hoax.  I wonder if they have also purchased stock in Al Gore’s carbon credit enterprise.  The economic results for the average American will be continued skyrocketing energy costs and the loss of millions of jobs.  This is the sort of loony socialist thinking that destroyed thousands of jobs for the sake of the Spotted Owl, prevented nuclear energy growth, ruined the fishing industry in the Northwest, prevents us from drilling for oil on our own continent, and mandated inefficient ethanol fuel production which has further increased the price of food.

Recently, pressure from environmental cults forced the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to list the polar bear as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act. This is the first time in the history of the Endangered Species Act for an animal in plentiful supply to be listed.  The polar bear’s population numbers are up 500% from 40 or 50 years ago.

The environmental cult preaches that rising CO2 theoretically equals a warmer world, which might equal less ice in the arctic, and thus might harm polar bears and their habitat. This will allow the government to restrict your work or recreational activities that produce CO2 emissions because they might raise the global temperature and harm the polar bear.

During a May 6 interview, global warming high priest Al Gore claimed that the deadly Myanmar cyclone, which struck on May 3, could be a result of alleged manmade global warming.  Scientists disagree, however, saying there is no way to link any single weather event to CO2 and global warming.  Gore is using a tragedy to advance his global warming agenda.

Dr. Roy Spencer is author of the book Climate Confusion: How Global Warming Hysteria Leads to Bad Science, Pandering Politicians, and Misguided Policies that Hurt the Poor. According to Spencer, “In Al Gore’s movie, all of the things he showed in there — whether it was Katrina, or ice crashing into the ocean after breaking off of glaciers — all of that stuff happens naturally and always has happened.  Yet he tried to connect them all with manmade global warming.”  Dr. Spencer is a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a former senior scientist for climate studies at NASA.
